[CANADA]—The Canadian Union of Jewish Students (CUJS) is pleased to announce its official founding and commencement of communication between journalists and the Jewish student community in Canada. The CUJS is committed to being the democratically elected representative body for Jewish students in Canada while empowering their voices and engaging in global Jewish matters. With the help of social media, the CUJS is dedicated to being a platform where Jewish students can voice their opinions and concerns to university administrations and other organizations.

This year, over 300 students have joined the CUJS community. As the CUJS continues to grow, each local Jewish student body in Canada will have its own CUJS chapter reflecting the specific desires of the student population it represents. Organized into various committees, the CUJS is actively planning elections for a provisional board, guaranteeing that the CUJS leadership remains representative and responsive to the diverse needs of Jewish students in Canada while waiting for the formal board election in January.

As the CUJS aims to ensure that responses to antisemitism on campuses accurately represent Jewish students' perspectives, it stands as the sole student-led organization in Canada capable of connecting journalists with Jewish students effectively. With the formal establishment of the CUJS, journalists will now have a direct channel to connect with Jewish students for interviews, comments, and insights on various topics, including but not limited to cultural events, social issues, and antisemitic incidents on Canadian campuses.

The CUJS invites journalists, media professionals, and interested parties to reach out for inquiries, interviews, and collaboration opportunities.
